In an effort to rebrand our paratransit services, (previously called Spec Trans) paratransit has been renamed to ACT-Connect™.  ACT-Connect™ will continue to provide the same level of great service, with an emphasis on reliability and connectivity to wherever passengers day to day destinations take them. Passengers can expect to see new Champion vehicles in service by mid-May. ACT-Connect™ services are still reserved for certified persons who are unable to navigate an accessible fixed-route bus.

ACT-Connect™  is a system of public transportation providing service for certified citizens of Amarillo who cannot physically use accessible Fixed Route buses. The service is operated by Amarillo City Transit Monday through Saturday, except holidays, between 6:20 a.m. and 6:25 p.m.  Trained operators are available to assist passengers at the curb. Assistance does not include carrying objects for passengers. All vehicles are specially designed with wheelchair lifts and four-point securement devices.

Panhandle Transit provides transportation to non-urban areas across the Texas Panhandle for access to employment, education, shopping, recreation, health care, and social services. The curb-to-curb, demand/response service allows us to pick-up and/or drop-off passengers based on their needs.

How it works:
Curb-to-curb demand-response services are available to passengers who request pick-ups and/or drop-offs. If you need a ride, please call 800-800-6162 at least 24 hours in advance. Based upon availability, our service center will schedule your ride.

Requirements:
Clients must be able to enter and/or exit their destination without assistance from the driver, though the driver will assist passengers in loading and unloading the van (excluding packages). PCS drivers have been trained in passenger assistance and emergency procedures to ensure that all passengers are safe, comfortable, and secure.
